This Privacy & Cookie Policy explains how Surveying Equipment Metricop LLC (“Metricop”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit metricop.com, contact us, request a quotation, place an order or receive support.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

If a quotation, order confirmation or invoice identifies another legal entity as the seller, that entity may act as a separate controller for information relating to that transaction and should provide its own applicable privacy information.

Metricop d.o.o. is a separate Serbian legal entity serving the Serbian market through metricop.rs. Elemtech AB is an independent Swedish logistics and operating partner and is not the controller for metricop.com merely because it assists with an order.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to metricop.com, website forms, quotations, orders, customer service, warranty and RMA communications, and related sales and marketing activities controlled by Surveying Equipment Metricop LLC.

It does not govern a manufacturer, payment provider, carrier, social network or other third party acting independently under its own privacy policy.

3. Personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

Identity and contact information

  • company or organisation;

  • job title or professional role;

  • billing and delivery address;

  • email address;

  • telephone number; and

  • country or region.

Quotation and order information

  • requested products and quantities;

  • intended application and technical requirements;

  • purchase orders, quotations and invoices;

  • tax, VAT, customs and importer information;

  • payment status and transaction identifiers;

  • shipping, tracking and delivery information; and

  • order, return, refund and warranty history.

Payment information

Payments are processed by the payment provider made available at checkout or stated in the Order Document. Metricop generally receives confirmation, payment status and limited transaction details rather than the complete payment-card number.

Technical and support information

  • product model and serial number;

  • equipment configuration and software information;

  • diagnostic files, screenshots, photographs and video;

  • project or workflow information you choose to provide; and

  • support, warranty and RMA communications.

Please do not send confidential project data, personal information about other people or sensitive information unless it is necessary and we have requested it.

Website and device information

  • IP address;

  • browser and device type;

  • operating system;

  • approximate location derived from IP address;

  • pages viewed and links selected;

  • referring website;

  • session, cookie and consent information; and

  • website performance, error and security logs.

Communications and marketing preferences

  • emails and messages sent to us;

  • newsletter or marketing preferences;

  • responses to surveys or promotions; and

  • from your employer or organisation when it places an order or names you as a contact;

  • from Shopify and other providers supporting the storefront, checkout or order process;

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the legal basis is normally taking steps at your request before entering a contract or performing a contract.

To operate and protect the business

  • prevent fraud and payment abuse;

  • maintain security and troubleshoot errors;

  • manage suppliers, logistics and customer relationships;

  • maintain business records; and

  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Where applicable, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and effective international equipment business, provided that interest is not overridden by your rights.

Analytics

Used to understand website usage, performance, errors and how visitors interact with content.

Advertising

Used to measure campaigns, limit repeated advertisements and provide or assess advertising based on website activity.

Where required by law, functional, analytics and advertising technologies are not used until you provide the relevant consent.

You can review or change non-essential cookie choices through Cookie Preferences in the website footer. You may also use browser controls, but blocking strictly necessary cookies can prevent parts of the website from working.

The specific cookies and providers in use may change as website services are updated. The current preference interface provides the most relevant available categories and controls.

7. Shopify and storefront services

We use Shopify to support product, checkout, order and customer functions. Shopify may process personal information as our service provider and, for certain enhanced or networked services, may process information for purposes described in Shopify’s own privacy materials.

Because metricop.com uses a customised storefront, consent choices must be communicated to the services and pixels used by the storefront. We configure privacy controls so that non-essential tracking is restricted where consent is required.

8. How we disclose personal information

We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary to:

Service and technology providers

This includes providers supporting ecommerce, hosting, cloud storage, databases, security, communications, customer support, analytics, advertising, payments and fraud prevention.

Manufacturers, suppliers and service partners

We may provide the information required to confirm compatibility, availability, configuration, licences, technical support, repair or warranty service.

Logistics and customs providers

This includes carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, insurers and logistics partners. European logistics and local administration may be supported by Elemtech AB where relevant to the order.

Professional advisers and authorities

We may disclose information to accountants, lawyers, auditors, insurers, banks, tax authorities, customs authorities, courts, regulators or law-enforcement bodies where reasonably necessary or legally required.

Business transfers

Information may be disclosed in connection with a proposed or completed merger, financing, reorganisation, acquisition or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.

We do not sell personal information for money. However, depending on the advertising and analytics services enabled, the use of advertising cookies or disclosure of online identifiers may be considered “selling”, “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under certain U.S. state privacy laws. Where those laws apply, you may opt out through Cookie Preferences, Your Privacy Choices or another method made available on the website.

9. International transfers

Metricop is based in the United States and works with customers and service providers internationally. Personal information may therefore be processed in the United States, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Sweden, Serbia and other countries where relevant providers, manufacturers, suppliers or carriers operate.

Those countries may have different data-protection laws from your country.

Where GDPR or UK GDPR requires a transfer mechanism, we use an available lawful safeguard, such as an adequacy decision, approved standard contractual clauses or another legally recognised mechanism. We also consider appropriate supplementary safeguards where required.

10. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including:

  • the duration of an inquiry, quotation, order or customer relationship;

  • applicable warranty, return and dispute periods;

  • tax, accounting, customs, export and recordkeeping requirements;

  • fraud prevention and security needs; and

  • the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Order, invoice and transaction records may be retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law, which can extend for several years after the transaction.

When information is no longer required, we delete, anonymise or securely isolate it, subject to technical backup cycles and legal obligations.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss or disclosure.

No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. You should use appropriate safeguards when sending confidential information and should not send payment-card information by ordinary email.

12. Your privacy rights

Rights depend on your location and the law applicable to Metricop’s processing.

EEA and UK rights

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may have the right to:

  • obtain access to your personal information;

  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;

  • request deletion;

  • restrict processing;

  • receive certain information in a portable format;

  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;

  • object at any time to direct marketing;

  • withdraw consent; and

  • complain to a competent data-protection authority.

These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. For example, we may retain information required for tax records, fraud prevention or legal claims.

Metricop does not ordinarily make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about customers solely through automated processing.

U.S. state privacy rights

Where an applicable U.S. state privacy law covers Metricop and your information, you may have rights to:

  • know or access categories and specific pieces of personal information;

  • correct inaccurate information;

  • request deletion;

  • obtain a portable copy;

  • opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising;

  • limit certain uses of sensitive personal information;

  • appeal a denied request; and

  • receive equal service without unlawful discrimination for exercising a privacy right.

Metricop will honour legally recognised opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where required by applicable law and technically received by the website.

Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not treated as an opt-out unless applicable law requires it because there is no universally accepted standard. This does not affect legally recognised preference signals such as Global Privacy Control.

13. Exercising your rights

To submit a privacy request, email sales@metricop.com with the subject line Privacy Request.

Describe the right you want to exercise and the country or U.S. state where you reside. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify identity and protect customer data.

An authorised agent may submit a request where permitted by law. We may request proof of the agent’s authority and may verify the request directly with the individual.

We will respond within the period required by applicable law. If we deny a request, we will provide an explanation and any appeal method required by law.

14. Marketing choices

You may unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in the message or by contacting sales@metricop.com.

You may object to direct marketing at any time. Marketing preferences do not prevent necessary communications about quotations, orders, security, warranty, returns or legal notices.

15. Children

Metricop’s website and products are intended for professional users and adults. They are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

16. Third-party websites

Links to manufacturer websites, videos, social networks, carrier tracking or other third-party services are provided for convenience. Those services control their own privacy practices, and you should review their policies before providing information.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, providers or business operations.

The updated Policy will be published with a revised effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent before materially changing how information is used.

Before publishing

  1. Confirm that Surveying Equipment Metricop LLC is the seller shown in checkout, order confirmations and invoices for metricop.com.

  2. Confirm the Wyoming address, phone number and email address.

  3. Use Terms & Conditions as the footer title and Shopify menu label. Keep Commercial Sales Terms – Business Customers Only as a clearly visible section inside that page.

  4. Keep the Terms in Shopify’s Terms of service policy field so Shopify can link it from checkout.

  5. Publish Limited Warranty & RMA Policy as a separate page and link it near every product claim such as “1-year warranty”.

  6. If a product has only a manufacturer warranty or a different period, identify that on the product page or quotation instead of relying on the general 12-month clause.

  7. Provide a way to obtain the warranty by phone or post, not only through the website.

  8. Do not present the Wyoming registered address, Elemtech AB or Metricop d.o.o. as a general return location.

  9. Display the Terms, Shipping, Returns and Warranty links before payment and in quotations or proforma invoices.

  10. Use an affirmative acceptance notice or checkbox at checkout and retain the accepted policy version and timestamp.

Privacy and cookies

  1. Inventory every active tracker and service, including Shopify, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, embedded videos, chat tools, Lovable hosting and any Supabase forms or databases.

  2. Configure the headless storefront so consent is transmitted to Shopify Customer Privacy settings and every third-party pixel.

  3. In the EEA and UK, block non-essential analytics and advertising technologies until valid consent is obtained.

  4. Make Reject non-essential, Accept and granular preference controls comparably accessible.

  5. Make Cookie Preferences permanently available in the footer.

  6. Configure Your Privacy Choices and Global Privacy Control handling wherever U.S. state privacy law requires it.

  7. Check whether Shopify Network Intelligence or Enhanced Services is enabled and keep Shopify’s automated privacy wording and opt-out links synchronised with that setting.

  8. Confirm whether Metricop must designate an EU or UK privacy representative before actively targeting Consumers there.

  9. Create privacy@metricop.com later if desired; until then, the draft correctly uses the existing sales@metricop.com address.

EU Consumer changes from September 27, 2026

  1. Add the official harmonised EU legal-guarantee notice prominently to the website for EU Consumer sales beginning September 27, 2026.

  2. Use the official notice without modifying its design and display the correct language version.

  3. Do not use the EU GARAN label for an ordinary one-year warranty. The label is for a qualifying free commercial durability guarantee covering the entire product for more than two years.

  4. Continue to distinguish the commercial warranty from the Consumer’s mandatory legal guarantee.

Recommended legal review

Ask U.S. counsel to review:

  • clickwrap and quotation acceptance;

  • Wyoming governing law and forum selection for international Business Customers;

  • warranty-provider language for products sourced from different manufacturers;

  • U.S. state implied-warranty and privacy variations;

  • export-control and sanctions procedures; and

  • whether the B2B liability cap and indemnity match Metricop’s insurance and actual order process.
