What is an RTK licence and why RTK Premium?

In partnership withPremium Positioning

An RTK licence gives your GNSS receiver a subscription to a network of permanent reference stations. The network measures satellite signal errors in real time and streams corrections to your rover over NTRIP, turning a metre-level GNSS position into a repeatable centimetre-level one.

Single-network dependency is the risk field teams actually carry. When one correction provider degrades, work stops — even though the receivers, the crew and the site are all ready.

RTK Premium draws corrections from redundant, independent sources instead of one. If a source degrades, corrections keep arriving through another and the crew keeps working — with better than 1.5 cm accuracy and 99.98% uptime since 2018.

  • Works with the RTK-enabled GNSS receivers you already own, over NTRIP
  • 7,500 base stations across 35+ countries, up to 70 km baseline
  • Better than 1.5 cm accuracy with certified ETRF / ETRS89 coordinates
  • 99.98% uptime since 2018, proven on 35,000+ connected devices
  • Per-session traceability for every correction stream

Certified centimetre accuracy

Better than 1.5 cm with European certification and certified ETRF coordinates.

Brand-independent

Works with RTK-enabled GNSS receivers from any manufacturer over standard RTCM.

All four constellations

GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou for faster fixes under difficult sky conditions.

Secured infrastructure

Powered by Geo++ GNSMART II with monitored, redundant delivery.

How network RTK corrections work

You do not need your own base station. The correction network does that work for you, continuously and across borders.

  1. 1

    Reference stations observe

7,500 permanent base stations continuously track GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou signals.

  2. 2

    Errors are modelled

Geo++ GNSMART II models ionospheric, tropospheric and orbit errors across the whole network, not just one station.

  3. 3

    Corrections are streamed

Your rover logs in with an NTRIP account and receives standard RTCM 3.x corrections over mobile internet.

  4. 4

    The rover fixes

The receiver resolves ambiguities within seconds and reports positions better than 1.5 cm in a certified reference frame.

RTK network coverage and redundancy

The service is not tethered to one infrastructure. Corrections can be switched at end-user, reseller or solution level, coverage spans 35+ countries with one account, and you can check availability on the live map before anyone leaves the yard.

Redundant, independent sources

Multiple correction services with no shared dependency. One degrading does not take the others with it.

Switching at user, reseller or solution level

Corrections can be switched per device, per account, or across an entire deployment.

Verifiable deliverability

Correction delivery is tracked per session, so a disputed measurement has a record behind it.

Live coverage heatmaps

Check real service availability before deployment, not after the crew has arrived on site.

Want to check coverage before you commit? Tell us the countries and job sites and we will review the live coverage heatmap with you.

Check Coverage

Manage licences in the XYZ Platform

The XYZ Platform is the portal where corrections, accounts, devices and licences are managed. Licences are separated from hardware credentials, so a subscription moves with the crew rather than with the box.

Active, unassigned and expiring accounts are visible at a glance, support information is aligned per device, and resellers reorder directly in the portal.

  • Accounts and licences

Assign, reassign and renew licences without touching hardware credentials.

  • Devices

Per-device support information and status across the whole fleet.

  • Coverage and support

Live coverage heatmaps and session-level delivery records in one place.

Industries that run on RTK corrections

The same licence covers surveying, construction, agriculture, UAV, marine, mining and machine control — one account, one network, across every country your crews work in.

Land surveying and mapping

Boundary, topographic and cadastral surveys with repeatable centimetre-level results across borders.

Construction and civils

Stake-out, as-built checks and site layout that stay accurate across large, busy projects.

Machine control

RTK corrections for graders, dozers, excavators and automated earthmoving equipment.

Precision agriculture

Guidance, section control and controlled traffic farming on the same network your surveyors use.

UAV and drone survey

RTK/PPK flights with traceable positional quality for photogrammetry and LiDAR missions.

Marine and hydrography

Dredging, port works and near-shore survey where continuity of corrections is critical.

Mining and quarrying

Volume calculation, haul road layout and pit monitoring with consistent accuracy.

Infrastructure and monitoring

Road, rail and utility programmes plus structural and terrain monitoring over long periods.

GIS and asset data collection

Utility, municipal and field asset capture with certified ETRF/ETRS89 coordinates.

RTK Premium technical specifications

Everything your GNSS department needs to check compatibility before ordering.

How to request a licence

  1. 1

Tell us your country or region

We start from where your crews actually work, including cross-border deployments.

  2. 2

Tell us your receivers and devices

Send the models and how many devices need corrections.

  3. 3

    We check coverage and compatibility

We verify network coverage on the live heatmap and confirm NTRIP compatibility.

  4. 4

We provide the correct licence option

You get a clear recommendation for the right RTK Premium licence setup — not a price list.

Frequently asked questions

What is an RTK licence and what does it include?

An RTK licence is a subscription that gives your GNSS receiver access to a network of reference stations over the internet. The Metricop RTK Premium licence includes an NTRIP account, RTCM 3.x correction streams, access to 7,500 base stations across 35+ countries, coverage in the XYZ Platform and support by phone and email.

How accurate is RTK Premium?

Better than 1.5 cm horizontal accuracy in real time, with European certification and certified ETRF/ETRS89 coordinates. Sub-centimetre results are achievable when raw GNSS data is post-processed afterwards.

Which GNSS receivers are compatible?

Any RTK-capable GNSS receiver that supports NTRIP and standard RTCM 3.x messages — Topcon, Leica, Trimble, Stonex, CHCNAV, South, Emlid, u-blox based systems and more. In most cases no hardware change is needed; send us your models and we confirm compatibility before you order.

How reliable is the network?

99.98% uptime since 2018, more than 35,000 connected RTK devices and redundant, independent correction sources. If one source degrades, corrections keep arriving through another, so the crew keeps working.

What is the maximum baseline distance?

Up to 70 km between the rover and the network solution, which keeps initialisation fast and accuracy stable even in areas with lower station density.

Can we check coverage before committing?

Yes. The live coverage map shows real service availability per country and region, so a deployment can be verified before your crew leaves the yard. You can also request a free trial before buying a licence.

How much does an RTK licence cost?

Pricing depends on region, number of devices and contract length, so licences are quoted per fleet rather than sold from a fixed price list. Send us your country, device count and receiver models and we will come back with a licence recommendation and price.

Can a licence be moved to another device or crew?

Yes. Licences are managed in the XYZ Platform and kept separate from hardware credentials, so a subscription can be reassigned between devices and crews without replacing equipment.

Tell us what your fleet looks like

Send us the device count, country or region, receiver models and how your crews work. We will recommend the right RTK licence setup.

We reply from sales@metricop.com, usually within one business day.
