Overview
The South ALPS2 is a light laser GNSS receiver: 134 mm across, 79 mm high and 860 g. It tracks 1698 channels and measures 8 mm + 1 ppm horizontal and 15 mm + 1 ppm vertical in RTK. Its IMU corrects pole tilt up to 120°, with 8 mm + 0.7 mm/° added uncertainty.
The class 3R green laser reaches 30 m. South specifies 3 cm accuracy within 10 m and 5 cm within 20 m, so the laser is meant for close points you cannot occupy, such as building corners. An 8 MP front camera and a 2 MP bottom camera drive AR stakeout on the controller.
An internal 2 W UHF radio transmits and receives with 8 to 10 km range, and the receiver also has Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and Wi-Fi. Data goes to 16 GB of internal storage. The 6800 mAh battery runs about 25 h in static mode, 20 h as a UHF rover, 15 h with the laser or visual mode and 12 h as a base. It is rated IP68.
When the ALPS2 is not the right choice: if you need the laser at longer distances, the South INNO8 Pro reaches 150 m and has a 3 W radio and a 30 h battery. If you never measure unreachable points, the South G7Q is a simpler receiver without laser and cameras.

FJD Trion V100F – GNSS and LiDAR Fusion Surveying System
The FJD Trion V100F combines GNSS surveying, 3D LiDAR scanning, cameras and IMU in one device. It supports continuous data capture in open, obstructed and GNSS-limited environments, helping surveyors capture points, lines, surfaces and volumes more efficiently on road, bridge, tunnel, mining and other complex engineering projects.SureFix keeps pole-based measurement going as you move from open sky into nearby GNSS-limited areas, with a typical accuracy of ±5 cm within a 20 m radius. For safer non-contact measurement, select targets from captured images for LiDAR-based coordinate measurement within 20 m (±5 cm typical), measuring trench edges, wall corners, areas beneath bridges and slope boundaries without approaching them.Scan tunnels, culverts and slopes for cross-sections and volumes in a single pass, and get stockpile and earthwork volume results directly in the field with FJD Trion Survey. Point clouds, measurements and analysis are then processed in FJD Trion Model. Benefits GNSS, LiDAR, cameras and IMU in one field instrument. Keep measuring in GNSS-limited areas with SureFix (±5 cm typical within 20 m). Measure hazardous or hard-to-reach points without contact. Get cross-sections and volumes on site with FJD Trion Survey. Applications Road engineering Bridges and viaducts Tunnels and underground mining Mining and earthworks Urban canyons Utility trenches
