South
South SF1200 Quadcopter Drone Kit
The South SF1200 is a heavy-lift survey quadcopter for LiDAR, oblique and RGB mapping. In South's flight test it hovered for 85 minutes without payload and 65 minutes with a 2.2 kg LiDAR, and it carries up to 6 kg. The kit comes ready to fly with the RC20 remote controller, the SC3200 charging hub and two batteries. Drone and LiDAR are controlled from one system, so you take off with one key and set no LiDAR parameters on a laptop first. Benefits More area per flight: 65 minutes with a 2.2 kg LiDAR in South's test. One-key takeoff with drone and LiDAR controlled together. Terrain following and forward radar obstacle avoidance for hilly sites. Cable-free mounts for LiDAR, 5-lens oblique or RGB cameras. Applications Airborne LiDAR mapping Oblique photogrammetry and 3D city models Corridor mapping for roads, rail and power lines Mining and stockpile surveys Forestry and terrain models

Overview
The South SF1200 is the quadcopter in South's Fly2Map UAV series, built to carry survey payloads for a long time. South's own flight test measured 85 minutes of hover without payload, 65 minutes with a 2.2 kg LiDAR and 50 minutes with 6 kg on board. The SF1200 brochure rates it more conservatively at 60 minutes without payload and 50 minutes with 3 kg, which is the safer figure for planning missions.
Drone and sensor work as one system. You start the mission with one key, and you do not need a laptop to set LiDAR parameters before takeoff. Payloads attach to cable-free mounts, so switching between a LiDAR, a 5-lens oblique camera and an RGB camera is quick. Live video comes back to the remote controller during the flight.
For safety in real terrain, the SF1200 follows the ground at a set height, and you can edit flight height point by point in terrain-following mode. A forward millimeter-wave radar detects obstacles up to 40 m ahead. Positioning runs in RTK or PPK mode at 1 cm + 1 ppm horizontal and 2 cm + 1 ppm vertical, the datalink reaches 10 km, and the airframe works from -20 °C to +50 °C.
When the SF1200 is not the right choice: for long corridors or large areas where a quadcopter needs too many battery swaps, a VTOL fixed-wing drone covers more ground per flight. The SF1200 packs into a 570 x 520 x 260 mm transport case, but at 12 kg without payload it travels by vehicle, not in a backpack.
