Overview
The South SG130 is South's lightweight multi-platform LiDAR. The scanner weighs 2 kg without the camera and runs a 1550 nm, Class 1 eye-safe laser. You choose the pulse rate to match the job: 600 kHz for a typical flying height of 120 m, 400 kHz for 200 m and 300 kHz for 250 m. Range reaches 1000 m on natural targets with more than 80% reflectivity.
Each pulse can return up to 12 echoes, which is what gets points through tree canopy and down to the ground. Ranging accuracy is 10 mm single and 5 mm repeat, and the integrated IMU and GNSS (0.006° roll and pitch, 0.019° heading, 500 Hz) give an absolute accuracy of ±3 cm in South's test at 150 m above ground and 8 m/s.
The SG130 uses a cable-free design with an integrated slider, so the same unit moves between a drone and a vehicle quickly. This kit comes with a 26 MP RGB camera for colorized point clouds, the Fly2Map Pilot app for DJI RC Plus 2, and AcuteLAS Studio standard version, which processes several flights at once, divides flight strips, fuses data and classifies the point cloud. DJI M350 and M400 mounting is available as an option.
When the SG130 is not the right choice: if weight on the drone is the main limit, the SA130 mini is lighter at 1.3 kg and reaches 1200 m with 2,000,000 points per second. If you need a 45 MP or 61 MP camera for high-resolution imagery, ask for the camera upgrade when you order.
