South
South DL-2007 Digital Level
The South DL-2007 is a precision digital level for control leveling, deformation monitoring and engineering work, with 0.7 mm standard deviation per km of double-run leveling. It reads a bar-code staff from 2 to 110 m and shows results on an illuminated 4-line display. The trigger key measures and records in one step, and the onboard program reduces the line, checks each station and warns you when a reading is out of tolerance. Benefits 0.7 mm per km for control and monitoring lines. No reading or booking errors: the level reads and stores the staff. SD card slot and USB for moving large jobs. 4-line display shows more of the line at once. Applications Control and benchmark leveling Settlement and deformation monitoring Road, rail and tunnel construction Industrial and machine foundation leveling Topographic and contour work

Overview
The South DL-2007 is the precision model of South's DL series. It reads a bar-code staff electronically and stores the result, so a long control line is measured without manual reading or booking. That matters most on monitoring and benchmark work, where one misread number ruins a whole loop.
Accuracy is 0.7 mm standard deviation per km of double-run leveling with the digital reading, and 2.0 mm when you read the staff optically. Digital readings work from 2 to 110 m and take under 3 seconds. The magnetic-damped compensator has a range of more than ±12' and a setting accuracy of 0.30".
The onboard program reduces the line automatically, checks each station, warns you when a reading is over tolerance, and keeps the height difference and cumulative stadia difference up to date. Up to 20,000 points are stored with incremental, decremental or custom point names, and data moves over USB or an SD card. The battery runs about 16 hours and the housing is rated IP55.
When the DL-2007 is not the right choice: for construction leveling and site work, the DL-202 at 1.5 mm per km is enough and costs less. For simple height transfer on a small site, an automatic optical level is the cheaper tool.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- 0.7 mm per km for control and monitoring.
- SD card slot in addition to USB.
- Field reduction with station checks and tolerance alarm.
Cons
- Costs more than the DL-202 for work that does not need 0.7 mm per km.
- Digital range ends at 110 m, so long sight lines need extra setups.
- IP55, not rated for submersion.
