Overview
The South N6+ is the current version of South's N6 series, a manual total station with a keypad and a six-line LCD on both faces. You choose the angle accuracy when you order: 2" for topographic surveys, stakeout and general survey work, or 5" for contractors who set out building lines, grids and offsets and want a lower price.
Distance measurement is the same on both: 2 mm + 2 ppm with a prism and 3 mm + 2 ppm reflectorless, 5000 m to a single prism, and fine readings in under 0.3 seconds. The only other difference is reflectorless range, 1500 m on the 2" and 1000 m on the 5". A dual-axis compensator and a laser plummet accurate to 1.5 mm at 1.5 m keep setups quick.
The keypad workflow suits crews that want the same screens every day: job, station setup, measure, stake out, export. Data goes to a USB stick or over Bluetooth, and the 5000 mAh battery is rated for 16 hours. The IP55 housing handles dust and rain on site.
When the N6+ is not the right choice: it has no touch screen, no map view and no automatic instrument height. If you want those, look at the South N41 or the Android A1X. For control traverses that need 1" angles, choose the N41 or the A1X in 1".
